Walking the Solar System: Audio Tour

I’m not even going to get into not updating the blog very much lately, that is a whole other blog post. I did want to tell you about a project that I have been working on. In 2008 a scale model of the solar system was installed in downtown Kansas City. Last year I received a small grant that allowed all of the seventh graders at South Valley Middle School to visit. It consists of eight foot tall stanchions with information about each of the planets and 3D images and tactile models. Before taking my students on the tour last year I created an audio tour that included additional science information as well as other subjects and Kansas City History. After taking the students on the tour last year I realized there were a couple mistakes and a few places where the audio tour could be improved. I recently finished the revamped audio tour. I worked with a professional writer and narrator to create a completely revamped audio tour. I also created a website and teacher’s guide to accompany the audio tour. Below is the link to the Walking the Solar System Audio Tour website. I would love to know your thoughts about the website, teacher’s guide or audio tour.
